As a low-cost, complete web hosting provider, WestHost’s services include shared web hosting, cloud hosting, dedicated servers, reseller hosting, domain registration, e-commerce tools, web design, and merchant account solutions.
Since they faced an overcrowded, largely price competitive market, WestHost came to Nebo for help with their search engine optimization, paid media, and conversion rate optimization efforts.
BRAND & AUDIENCE INSIGHTS
WestHost initially did not have a strong brand focus. One important audience in their target market was the PHP development community - market influencers that WestHost relied on to talk about and recommend their services. Nebo realized WestHost needed to engage this audience more effectively. If this audience could get more excited about WestHost’s services, then the company would benefit.
SOLVING THE PROBLEM
To combat the brand focus issue and differentiate their digital marketing, Nebo paired WestHost with its target market of web developers through the creation and promotion of online contests, as well as fostering relationships with online communities of developers to build trust and loyalty. By sponsoring meetup groups and using contests to get developers engaged with WestHost’s services, the developer community was made more aware of the company. Brand mentions and recognitions increased.
For the optimization of WestHost’s paid media campaigns, Nebo created new paid search and display campaigns, and landing pages that spoke directly to their target market. Web analytics was also implemented to properly track web visitors across multiple subdomains. Once able to receive clean data, conversion rate optimization was implemented across landing pages and core site pages.
