InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the company behind such hotel brands as Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza, is a global hotels group with more guest rooms (over 645,000 rooms in over 100 countries) than any other hotel group in the world.
Rather than rest on the laurels of their success, IHG continues to push the envelope by exploring new technologies and innovative ways to enhance the hotel guest experience.
IHG originally asked Nebo to assist in their Holiday Inn brand relaunch by creating the brand experience pages of their website, creating the designs, flash animation, and copywriting, as well as leading in the creative direction. After the success of our initial project, Nebo was also hired to develop new homepage design concepts for the IHG corporate website, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites & Candlewood Suites.
More importantly, InterContinental Hotels Group also recognized that they needed to stay up on digital marketing and technology trends in a 21st century world. Before the company invested in new technologies, IHG’s technology team needed help researching, concepting, and presenting business cases to help sell innovative ideas to senior management.
SOLVING THE PROBLEM
Currently Nebo works on innovation projects for IHG’s Global Technology Team. As part of this role, Nebo develops concept web, mobile, and iPad applications for both internal and external use as well as custom high-end presentations and video content.
Most recently, Nebo led and concepted the production of a narrative video outlining the impact that emerging technologies, such as mobile, will have on the future of the guest experience. This project included the development of concept application screens for guest experience, hotel management and reporting applications.
Among the work with which Nebo has assisted:
- Created a “values wheel” which featured a visual representation of IHG’s core values. This application is being rolled out to over 50,000 employees for use in performance reviews and training.
- Built concept interfaces for next generation technologies and assisted in crafting business cases for presentation to senior management.
- Created a concept transliterator application to allow Chinese customers to sign up for loyalty rewards.
- Developed various iPad application interface concepts to show the potential of new technology & infrastructure.
