How do you find the most talented storyteller at the University of Georgia? You offer them $500 to tell their best story—that's how! The rules were simple: Nebo loves UGA so tell us why you do too.
After several hours of reading and much deliberation, we have our winner. Drum roll, please...
Congratulations to Nick Toomey for being our UGA Scholarship winner! Nick wove a well-crafted tale about his struggle to pay his tuition as an out of state student, proving both his storytelling chops and his Bulldog passion along the way.
In the end, $500 is going to one very deserving UGA student, but we wanted to say thanks to everyone who entered and shared his or her story!
We loved getting to know each of you a bit better and wish you continued success in your future career endeavors. Who knows, maybe we'll see more of each other down the road!
We had a great time at The University of Georgia meeting some of the best young minds in Mass Communication at ADPR Connection 2013. We wanted to show our appreciation for the great work The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication is doing so we offered students a chance to win a $500 scholarship. We trusted the money would go toward education and definitely not shots all around at Boar's Head.
The idea was simple—Nebo loves UGA so tell us why you love it. Students submitted their essays by putting it somewhere online (e.g. personal website, blog, a page they made just for the essay) and Tweeted us the link @Neboweb using the hashtag #PartyintheUGA.
Why #PartyintheUGA? Oh, did we mention our own Darien LaBeach, in addition to being UGA homecoming king last year,
is YouTube famous? You may remember him in this little gem from all the way back in 2010.
Thanks again to all our entrants and good luck in the future!
